The essential oil room spray recipe is so crazy simple.
It has very few ingredients and is made using essential oils.
Use common sage essential oil (Salvia officinalis) for this recipe—not clary sage, which is a different essential oil.
Common sage essential oil contains thujone. If you are pregnant, have a seizure disorder, or are especially sensitive to fragrances, avoid using this blend unless a qualified healthcare professional advises otherwise. Use in a well-ventilated space and keep the spray out of children's reach.
- Step 1: Get a 4 oz glass spray bottle, like the one pictured below.
- Step 2: Add Vodka or grain alcohol to a glass spray bottle, as shown below.
- Step 3: Add in the needed Essential Oils.
- Step 4: Fill the rest of the way with distilled water.
Shake well before each use. Essential oils may separate in this water-based formula. Shaking helps temporarily redistribute them, but it does not fully solubilize the oils or establish stability, preservation, or uniform distribution. Do not assume the vodka in this recipe adequately preserves the finished spray.
Use a clean bottle, avoid topping off an old batch, and store away from heat and direct light. Discard the spray if its appearance or smell changes, keeping in mind that contamination is not always visible. - 8 drops Sage Essential Oil
