When your skin is screaming out for some love, DIY body butter is sure to please. Making homemade body butter just requires a few ingredients, but essential oils can be added for additional soothing and healing properties. I know you'll love these body butter recipes!
My skin has been crazy dry the last few months, so this morning I decided to whip up a few remedies for this. I pulled out a few of my favorite body butter recipes and got busy.
I started with the Wellness Mama's Organic Homemade Lotion recipe (find below) using almond oil, coconut oil, beeswax and cocoa butter. This recipe is super easy. The longest part was just waiting for the beeswax and cocoa butter to melt.
The results looks more like a balm than a lotion, but it absorbs really well.
Then I moved on to Mommypotamus’ recipe for Mint Chocolate Whipped Body Butter. Sounds like something you can eat… At least my daughter thought so. She kept asking for a bite. This recipe is a bit more involved than the previous and dirtied a lot more dishes, but the end result was pretty sweet.
Body butter is so fun to make and the end result is truly decadent.

Where to Find Ingredients for Body Butter Recipes
There are a few staple ingredients that you may need when making these delectable recipes. Most can be found quite easily on Amazon or Mountain Rose Herbs.
We also have a large library of natural ingredients here.
Where to Purchase Quality Essential Oils:
When I first began using Essential Oils, my focus was on finding the cheapest price. I would scour the web and Amazon comparing prices for individual oils.
But, I have since learned, that with Essential Oils, cheaper isn’t always better.
I know where the grass fed meat I feed my family comes from along with the fresh produce I buy from local farmers.

I notice a lot of DYI's out there use Coconut. So I'm going to put this out their. Coconut clogs your pours, Its not good. Try Babassui oil its just as good I think better, It is an alternative to Coconut oils/Butters. There is a saying what you put on your body is just as important as what you put in it, A lot of women know this but not all. Please educate your self. Also when ever you add water/Aloe Gel or juice to a butter or lotion you need a preservative. There are a lot of organic ones out their. This is just to inform you so you don't get mold or fungus in your products and get sick. You can't see these poisons in your products unless your looking for them. Use a spoon if you don't want to add a natural preservative. But who doesn't put their wet or dirty fingers in the butters? This happened to me so be careful. Be Smart.

Hmmm, no I'm sorry I don't. Are there any recipes that use regular milk and you could substitute it for goat's milk?
